How to be your own boss

If you're reading this, that's probably because you're ready to start your own business. You're tired of going to school, working a 9-5, or being underpaid at a job you hate... If the thought of having to work for another human being doing a job you hate just to make money bothers you as much as it bothers me, then this is the right book for you.

Basically, if you want to become rich by doing what you love without having to answer to anyone else, you have to start your own business venture in some shape or form. Making money takes time and energy, and if you're not spending your time and energy doing what you love and enjoying your life, then you're wasting your time.

That's why I created this blueprint for success: to give you the tools and resources you need to start your own business from scratch - whatever it may be - at home with just a laptop and credit card. It includes several checklists as well to ensure you actually accomplish the necessary requirements, allowing you to get from point A to B with ease. I wish I had this checklist when I was first starting as an entrepreneur, but after 10 years of experience in business management and over 7 years experience running my own businesses, I've learned that the right way to success is often the simplest and most straightforward.

The first step to creating a successful business is coming up with a successful idea. This means you need a product or service that you know people want and are willing to pay money for. Sounds easy, right? But it's not very easy at all, anyone can come up with a cool idea, but less than 1% of those ideas actually make it big and turn into multi-million dollar companies. Remember, we're not here just to survive and get by, we're here to thrive, flourish, and enjoy life to the fullest. So which ideas make it big, which ones fail, and why?

Here's our first check-list to ensure our ideas are worth pursuing in the first place. Why waste time, money, and energy trying to create a business that won't sell? There is no guarantee you will make money from your business, and I don't want to give false promises, but I've created five general principles which apply to all businesses that have succeeded financially and withstood the tests of time. If your idea doesn't meet these five criteria, then it either needs to be improved or changed entirely.

Something I've learned the hard way over the past 7 years through many failed and successful business ventures is this: It's one thing to have a business idea or a good product/service, but it's a whole different story to make money legitimately from this idea and have people pay you money for it. In other words, it takes more than just a good idea and pure intentions to start a business. One of my mentors once told me something that has stuck with me until today: If you're not making money then you don't have a business, you have a dream. Therefore, the purpose of this book is to show you the exact steps you need to take in order to take your idea from 0-100 and manifest the life of your dreams.

Once you've established a business idea that works and you're comfortable with working over a long period of time, you need to learn the basics of business ownership and what it means to start a business. This is what we will cover in the next chapter, Business 101. After that we discuss the basics of creating your own brand and how to market it properly so customers will actually want to buy from you. Lastly (as a bonus) I will teach you how to build your own website that is optimized for high-growth strategies, scalability, and synchronization with many different sales channels.

As a final activity, summarize your company and your product/service in three sentences. Save this description on your computer because you will use it on every social media platform, website, and account you create that requires you to provide a short description of your company.
